Content pillar

Also called : content pillars, content theme, content bucket, pilier de contenu

Definition

A content pillar is a core recurring theme your videos fit into. A few well-chosen pillars give structure to your niche and keep the blank page away.

Why content pillars matter

Pillars turn a niche into a plan. Instead of asking yourself every day “what do I talk about?”, you pick a pillar and an angle. They also balance your content between what teaches, what entertains and what brings you closer to your audience.

How to define your pillars for short-form video

  • Pick three to five pillars, no more.
  • Give each one a goal: teach, inspire, reassure, make people laugh.
  • Attach a few recurring, easy-to-repeat formats to each pillar.
  • Example for an at-home fitness niche: “short workouts”, “form mistakes”, “behind my progress”, “minimal equipment”.

Common content pillar mistakes

  • Defining pillars that overlap too much.
  • Having too many, which dilutes your identity.
  • Never revisiting them as your audience changes.
In Flowers

Flowers doesn’t pick your pillars for you. Your profile, your inspiration collections and your personal weekly plan help you keep them in mind when you choose the next concept to develop.

FAQ

How many content pillars should I have?

Three to five is a common range: enough to vary, few enough to stay recognizable. There’s no magic number.

What’s the difference between a niche and a pillar?

Your niche is your overall territory. Pillars are the main categories of topics inside that territory.
